William K." Bill" Morris, age 73, of Deep River, passed away on Thursday morning, June 21, 2012 at the Middlesex Hospital in Middletown. He was the beloved husband of Beverly (Pitts) Morris. Bill was born in Middletown on May 29, 1939 the son of the late Robert and Rhoda (Leete) Morris. Bill had been a resident of Deep River for the past fifty years and had formerly resided in Chester. He was a veteran of the United States Navy proudly serving his country during the Vietnam Conflict. Bill was a printer for twenty-five years at UARCO in Deep River prior to his retirement. He was a member of The First Congregational Church of Deep River since 1973, a member of the Deep River Fire Department for thirty years and was a coach for Tri-Town Football and the Deep River Little League. Bill enjoyed fishing, was an avid fan of the New York Giants, and loved spending time on Cape Cod and being at the beach. Besides his wife Beverly whom he married at The First Congregational Church of Deep River on April 18, 1973 he leaves his children, William and Steven Morris both of Chester, Susan Kummer, of Wallingford, step-children, Donald Rankin, of Ivoryton, Kevin Rankin, of Deep River, and Lisa Bibbiani of Deep River, twelve grandchildren, and brothers, Robert of Newbury, NH, and Charles of New Lebanon, NY. Visitation will be held at The First Congregational Church of Deep River, 1 Church Street in Deep River on Sunday, June 24th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Bill's funeral service will be held on Monday, June 25th at 11:00AM. at the church. Interment will follow with Full Military Honors in the Fountain Hill Cemetery, High Street in Deep River.
