Mary S. Larsen

Mary S. Larsen, age 97, of Deep River passed away on Wednesday evening, December 13, 2023 at Aaron Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Chester. She was born in Killingworth on February 10, 1926 the daughter of John and Clara (Calcamuggi) Saglio. Mary was the beloved wife of Henry O. Larsen. They were married in Clinton on December 2, 1950. He predeceased her in 1982. She had been a resident of Deep River since 1946. Mary had worked as a cashier at the Grand Central Food Store in New Haven and for many years she was a solderer at Whelen Engineering in Chester retiring at age 83 in 2014. She leaves her children, Ronald Larsen and his wife Lori and Kim Wollschleager and her husband Stephen all of Deep River. Mary also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Jill A. Larsen and Samuel C. Wollschleager. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by her brother, John Saglio and sisters, Jennie Thomlinson and Patricia Schuyler.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook. Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel 11:00AM. Burial will follow in the Larsen family lot in Winthrop Cemetery in Deep River. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Mary’s name may be made to a charity for the donor’s choice. Mary would say “Be kind to one another and have compassion for each other”. Please do this in her name as well.
