Kevin Scott Rankin, courageously living with Multiple Sclerosis for 14 years, ended his battle listening to his favorite rock music surrounded by loving friends and family. He was born on March 1, 1966 and spent his life working hard and playing hard until his diagnosis. He excelled at all sports and loved photography, skiing, hiking, and the weather. He had an infectious loud laugh and everyone who knew him loved him immensely. Kevin was pre-deceased by his parents, Donald E. Rankin Sr.& Beverly P. Morris and Stepfather William K Morris. He is survived by his daughter, Emily Gail Rankin, and stepmother Patricia Rankin, brother Donald E. Rankin Jr., his wife Kathleen; sister Lisa R. Bibbiani, and her husband Stephen, stepbrothers Bill Morris, Steven Morris and stepsister Susan Kummer and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Kevin worked for Fountain Hill Cemetery and for his cousin scrubbing lobster pots and was a junior firemen while attending high school. Kevin graduated from Valley Regional High School in 1984 and upon graduation entered the United States Air Force, where he was an Aerospace Con & Warning Systems operator serving at the Ramstein Air Force Base in Kaiserslautern Germany, and Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Colorado. When Kevin returned from the Air Force he joined his father and brother at Rankin Painting contractors. He then attended computer classes and worked for Tab Computers. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 11th from 5-7pm at Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street Centerbrook. Funeral services will be held on Friday February 12th at 1pm at the Deep River Congregational Church, interment will follow at Fountain Hill Cemetery, Deep River.
