David Hartwell Zanardi, 66, passed away peacefully after a long illness on July 9, 2018. He was born on August 10, 1951 at Hartford Hospital, the son of the late Daniel J. and Elizabeth (Stalsburg) Zanardi. David, a lifelong resident of Chester, graduated from Valley Regional High School in 1971 and was employed at Norelco for 20 years. He also worked at Cable Prep until his retirement in 2014. David will be missed by so many for his sense of humor, kind soul and never ending love for the Mets and UCONN. David is survived by his brothers, Dean Zanardi and his wife Denise of Killingworth, and Daniel Zanardi and his partner Andrea Suits of Old Saybrook. His special nieces and nephews, Alexandria Zanardi of Deep River, Chloe Zanardi of Cromwell, Brett Zanardi of Killingworth, and Paul Zanardi of Chicago, and the entire Zanardi and Stalsburg families. The family thanks the staff at Chesterfields Health Center and Middlesex Hospital Hospice Unit for the care and compassion given to David. We greatly appreciate the numerous family and friends who touched David’s life. All those who took him to UCONN games, Mets games and the over 40 Swede Club Softball team games, you were all so special to David. The family would like to thank Marty Radomski, and Fran Malcarne, Joe, and the entire Morrow family at Cable Prep. and his former sister-in-law, Donna Zanardi for their love, care, and compassion.
