William Ernest Gorham III "Bill" passed away peacefully on October 31, 2022 at the age of 82. Bill was born in Lake Charles Louisiana. He moved to Denver as a teenager and attended South High School, which is where he met the love of his life, Joyce Whitaker.
He enrolled at the University of Colorado (CU) Boulder after high school and finished his education at Louisiana State University (LSU) earning his bachelor's degree in business.
After graduation, Bill moved back to Denver to start a family. He served in the US Army Reserves as a member of the 244th Engineer Battalion at Rocky Mountain Arsenal from 1967 to 1971.
He had a successful long-standing career as a Regional Manager in Petroleum Sales, which provided many opportunities to travel and connect with people from all over the Rocky Mountain and Midwest regions. He loved new endeavors and meeting people.
Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved country music, cooking, camping, fishing, boating, and spending time with family and friends. He had a compassionate soul and a special connection to animals, especially the many dogs he had over the years. He is remembered for his sense of humor, loyalty, and kindness.
He is survived by his 3 children Lynn Clark, Will Gorham, and Kate Shellhorn of Denver, CO; his 3 grandchildren Lauren Johnson, Natalie Shellhorn and Carson Shellhorn of Denver, CO.; his sister Craig Shaddock of Lake Charles, LA.; and his beloved pets, Daisy and Tiny Jumper.
A memorial service will be held at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary on Saturday, November 26th at 2pm with with a reception to follow.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
