Timothy David Mackintosh

When Timothy David Mackintosh walked into the room, those in his company felt energy, an enthusiastic spontaneity. This was just one example of who Timothy was and how he impacted those around him. Timothy was a clever and gregarious person who always sought out the finest attributes in other people. It was as if Timothy wanted to share all of their experiences, revel in their lives and celebrate their discoveries. Timothy was tireless and had unending passion that would serve him well throughout his life.

Timothy was born on April 14, 1959 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Denver, Colorado. He was the eldest son of Ben and Dorothy Mackintosh. Timothy was raised in Denver, Colorado. Always at the ready with a good joke, he grew up to be quite a humorous person. While some who knew Timothy might describe him as an idealist, his friends and family understood well that Timothy was always in pursuit of life’s endless possibilities and opportunities available to him.

Timothy was raised with three siblings. They are Shoo-Shoo, Stephie, and Chris.

As a young boy, Timothy was able to empathize and identify with a vast array of people and personality types. This quality drew him into a diverse group of friends and acquaintances. Timothy was intelligent and had little trouble getting along with his peers. Timothy took part in skiing, fishing, and camping. He was in the drama club, did art, and was a scout. Timothy had the ability to find amusement with almost any activity he and the many childhood friends he shared might discover.

He graduated from George Washington High School in 1977. Timothy absorbed as much as he could from all of his teachers and was consistently able to tackle conceptual and abstract problems, using his imagination to master his assignments. His favorite class in high school was drama.

Timothy was blessed with one child: Dylan Dante Mackintosh. Timothy was a natural and creative parent who was willing to provide his family with all sorts of new and interesting experiences. He loved days at the beach playing in the ocean with Dylan.

Timothy was uplifted by new ideas and was excited by life’s possibilities. He was a hair stylist for 30 years. Timothy was enterprising and inventive. Timothy's coworkers saw him as a creative inspiration and fun-loving addition to the team.

Because Timothy loved to have a broad variety of activities in his life, he took advantage of the opportunity to pursue numerous hobbies. His favorite pursuits were writing, ceramics, painting, walking, animals, hanging out with his friends and days at the beach.

Because Timothy was constantly in the center of things and where the action was, he always seemed willing to join in and help others. Timothy's gift of improvisation, along with a talent for rallying support, made him a great asset. Timothy was a past member of the Colorado Potter's Guild and enjoyed to show his art.

Timothy enjoyed traveling. Favorite vacations included Hawaii and Paris, France.

Timothy was a lover of animals and cherished his pets. He was quick to help any animals in need, even stopping on the road to assist injured animals. Valentino, his beloved dog, was a best friend for 4 years.

Timothy Mackintosh passed away on May 22, 2010 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Denver, Colorado. He is survived by his parents, Ben and Dorothy, his wife, Angela, his son, Dylan, sisters, Shoo-Shoo, and Stephanie (Jamie) his brother, Chris (Shelly), and nieces and nephews, Nicholas, Isabella, Maximilian, Ruby and Beau. Services were held at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary, Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at 10:00 a.m.

There was always a certain style and inventiveness to Timothy. He was a dynamic, self-expressive person who was forever looking to celebrate the endless possibilities life had to offer. He had a knack for being clever, creative and witty, and for others, was a joy to be around. While he was often fiercely independent, it seemed as if many others looked to Timothy Mackintosh for inspiration and courage.
