Throughout his life, "Steve" was passionate about many things. He was very passionate about cars. He spent many years working on, restoring and driving many well-known beauties to include; a 50's Ford Ranchero, a Shelby GT350, a Lotus Europa, a few Minis, a Sunbeam Tiger, a 60's Volvo Coupe, an International Harvester Scout, an Alfa Romeo, and a 2 seater Chevy Impala that he and his wife Sonja drove on their honeymoon to Taos. Most notably, he owned two ATS 2500 GTs which is incredible given of the 8 produced only 5 survived. While working at Western Motor Works he worked on rare cars, and drove many of them at unmentionable speeds. Steve loved and owned many Hondas, and encouraged everyone else to do so as well.
Over many years, Steve was in the restaurant business with his grandfather, father and siblings at several restaurants in the Denver area. Steve was passionate for cooking good food, and his favorite holiday was Thanksgiving. Steve worked many jobs over the years to provide for his family. Steve drove a bus in Blackhawk for several years, and later worked for a tree nursery, and later retired.
Steve was passionate about music, which he often times played very loudly. He encouraged everyone to play and love music, everything from the Beatles and Frank Zappa, to Brian Eno, Miles Davis and Talking Heads, to Sunday mornings with Los Lobos. He owned tabla drums and a sitar.
Steve loved animals and throughout his life owned many afghan hounds, birds and cats.
Steve was a family man. He loved his wife very much, and routinely spoke about Sonja being an angel. He attended church for important events and had a quiet belief.
Steve is survived by his mother, Barbara, his siblings, Janet and David, his wife, Sonja Berry, his children, Stephanie and her husband Bob, Josie, Miles and his wife Jamie, Jesse and his wife Christie, his grandchildren Joshua, Julia, Jenson, Riley, Whitney, Bryant and Jack as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Joe Berry who passed away in 2014.
