Shirley Jean Baxter

Shirley Jean Baxter was born on August 18, 1935 in Greeley, Colorado to Harold and Blanche Young. She was the forth of six children born into this family. She had an older brother Jim (who preceded her in death), an older brother Jerry, sister Pat (who preceded her in death), a younger brother Bill, and a young sister Evey.

She attended Windsor High School and graduated in 1953

She had four children a son Tom (who preceded her in death), a son Danny (who preceded her in death), a daughter Connie, and a daughter Sue. She had four grandchildren Tommy Mike (who preceded her in death) Justin, Christy and Addison and a great grandchild Skyler and a wonderful son in law Jeff Clark.

In addition to raising four children Shirley also worked outside the home. This farm girl from Greeley met a gentleman name Alfred. He worked for American Express in New York City and Shirley moved to New York to be with Alfred and work with American Express for the next ten years. Shirley then studied very hard for the Series 7 and Series 63 tests and became an investment broker for Tripp and Company Brokerage Firm. She retired from the Tripp and Company Brokerage firm in Denver, Colorado.

She loved to travel and made many trips to Austria with Alfred to visit his family. She took her children with her on one trip to Austria and it was a trip of a lifetime for them. She took several cruises with her daughter Sue and Addison, and went to Hawaii with Connie's family. She was an avid Broncos fan and was famous for her fried steak, chocolate chip cookies, and chocolate pudding. She was a loving, caring and giving person.

She battled COPD breathing issues for many years. She had two surgeries to replace her hip. Each surgery was tough on her because of her breathing issues and pneumonia that set in.

Her death on Monday August 7, 2017 was a shock to everyone. She did pass away peacefully.

Those who knew and loved Shirley will miss her very much. Until we meet again........11
