Ruth Elaine (Ariss) Eno, age 88, of Englewood, Colorado passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2022. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 72 years, Earl Eno, in July of this year, and by grandchildren Michael, Allen, Stacey and Stephanie. Ruth will be dearly missed and is survived by her son, Jerry, and her daughters, Meg Akins, Theresa McPherson, and Laura Adams, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ruth spent most of her childhood in Owosso, Michigan, one of 9 children. Ruth married Earl in June 1950, when she was 16 and he was 18. They had a plan for their lives, their children’s future and their own retirement. This involved a lot of hard work, dedication and personal sacrifice on their part and a few moves between/within Michigan, Florida, Tennessee, and Colorado. In the early 2000’s, they had their dream house built in Morrice, Michigan and were able to enjoy spending time with family and friends in Michigan. They moved back to Denver, Colorado in 2018.
Ruth supported the family when the children were young by making their clothing and cooking excellent and nourishing meals even on a tight budget, often utilizing fresh food from her own garden. She was a foster Mom to 2 children, a Pathfinder leader and a Deaconess in the Seventh-Day Adventist church. After the children left home, she worked in hospital food service in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, and at Porter Adventist Hospital in Denver, Colorado, for many years.
Ruth loved the mountains and the outdoors, she enjoyed gardening (both flowers and vegetables) and needlework, and made embroidered quilts for each of the grandbabies. She also loved to read and used her Kindle and IPad daily. She loved technology and Skype calls with her family when she could not be with them.
