Sorry, to hear of Rubys passing.I remember all the good times we had at Safeway Cake Plant. Thoughts and prayers to all.

Ruby Irene Robinson was born in Denver Colorado at home on July 13, 1928.  She attended East High School.  As a teenager, Ruby enjoyed going to the theatre at Elitchs and dancing in the Tracadero Ballroom to the big bands such as Glenn Miller, Harry James and Tommy Dorsey.  1947, she met Raymond Porter at McCarroll Bible Chapel and they began a courtship.  In October of 1947 they married in a small ceremony at the church where they met.  After her marriage she and Raymond moved to Texas where Ray was serving in the Army Air Corp.  When she became pregnant with her first child, Virginia she was forced to come back to Colorado because she could not endure the heat in Texas.   She was unable to return to Texas so she and Dad settled back in Denver living on South Locust Street by Lowery Airfield.

The young family then moved to S. Decatur Street.  There they had two more children, Stephen in 1951 and Cynthia in 1957.  In 1963 the family again began to grow with the impending birth of Lori.   So in July of 1963, the family moved to the home Littleton.  Ruby and Ray lived together in their home until Ray's death in January of 1999.  Ruby continued to live in the home with her son Stephen until his death in December of 2003.  

Ruby was a founding member of the Stich and Chatter club.  Ruby remained a member in good standing until the club disbanded after 35 years.  Ruby served as Leader of daughter Virginia's Girl Scout troop and as a Den Leader for Stephens Boy Scout troop.  Ruby's first job was as a Secretary at the Denver Bean Company until the beans froze and the company closed.  Ruby held several positions as a Secretary.  For 25 years she worked for Safeway Stores, first as a Lead Collection Clerk at the Credit Union then transferring to the Cake Plant.  She retired from the Cake Plant in 1983.  In 1985 Ruby purchased the HairTech Hair Salon.  She managed the salon for approximately 3 years before deciding to permanently retire.  

Ruby enjoyed her years of retirement taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

In October of 2010 Ruby suffered the loss of her eldest daughter Virginia Lafferty.  

Ruby lived in the Denver and Littleton for almost all of her adult life, with the exception of a short time after her marriage she lived in Texas on a Army Air Corp base with her husband.  Ruby entered into rest on Saturday October 20, 2012 at the age of 84 years, 4 months and 7 days.  Ruby is survived by her daughters Cynthia Ann Porter and Lori Lynn Moss.   Ruby's 7 grandchildren are Cheryl Lee Lafferty, Christine Hanson, Jason Lafferty, Jonathan Porter, Catherine Moss, Alexander Moss and Nathan Moss; Ruby's 5 great grandchildren Brett Lafferty, Nicole Lafferty, Travis Vance, Tyler Hanson and Jacob Hanson and Ruby's 2 great great grandchildren are Dakota Lafferty and Phenix Lafferty.
