Robert (Bob/Bobby) Alan Moody, 74, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 28, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on September 29, 1949, to Robert and Joyce Moody in Whittier, California. Bobby grew up in California as the first-born with three brothers and one sister. As children, he, Gordon, and Bryan took many hikes at their great grandmother's cabin in the Sequoia National Forest. As the oldest, Bobby was always the leader on these hikes, leading them on adventures through the forests without paths, always managing to get the group back to the cabin before dark.
He attended Whittier College, where he received a math and physics degree in 1971 and attended graduate school at California State University, Fullerton. Bobby met his wife, Martha Moody, at a church service and the two married on December 22, 1973.
A long-time resident of Morrison, Colorado, Bob spent most of his career in the legal field, but also had stints as a mathematics teacher, oil and gas worker, and medical transcriptionist. He was always willing to do whatever was needed to support his greatest joy and focus which was his family, including his children-in-law, and grandchildren. With his loved ones, Bobby enjoyed listening, dancing, and singing to 60s love songs, and he never missed an opportunity to connect and talk with others, often providing a funny story or a new perspective.
After his retirement, Bob’s vibrant and fun-loving personality shone even brighter. He spent his golden years deepening his relationship with Jesus Christ, growing his long beard, gardening, observing the stars, traveling virtually around the world, learning new things, and spending time with his family. He adored his grandchildren and loved being a grandfather.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert Moody, and is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Martha Moody, his mother, Joyce Moody, brothers Bryan, Gordon, and Stephen, sister Joella Wales, son Aaron (Sarah) Moody, daughter Gretchen (Gregg) Larson, daughter Hannah (Josh) Moody-Goo, and his beloved grandchildren Arielle, Liam, Molly, Felicity, Kaelynn, Isaiah, Jacob, and Luke.
Bobby will be remembered especially for his steadfast love, deep faith, great humor, and being the best dance partner.
