Richard "Rick" K. Leonard was born on July 26, 1946 in Denver Colorado. He graduated from Englewood High School in 1964 and attended Mesa College and Metropolitan State College. He and his wife of 48 years, Erlin, began dating when they were sophomores in high school. They married two years after graduation and became successful business partners in a wholesale (RK Leonard Specialties, Inc.) and retail (Cake Crafts) cake decorating supplies business for almost 40 years. Rick was an avid fly and ice fisherman, poker player and Broncos fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents Rae and Clara and his brothers Chuck and Jim.
He is survived by his loving wife Erlin, his beloved daughters Cassie Hlibichuk and Shelby, the son-he-always-wanted -in-law Justin, his adored grandson Bryce, his brother and sister-in-law Bob and Kerry Leonard, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Rene and Corky Venen and Jim and Liz Anderson, Gerri Leonard, Laura Leonard, many nieces, nephews, good fishing buddies, poker pals and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 2PM at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary in Centennial.
