Born with the name Carol Elsa Anderson in Los Angeles, California on March 29, 1942, to Helen Shirley Lindsay and Oscar August Anderson, Rhea’s life was a journey of exploration. This adventure began in the Chicago area, where she attended Taft High School with future playwright Jim Jacobs, who later publicized the many escapades of her classmates in the world-famous musical Grease. During these young years, Rhea also guest starred on American Bandstand with Dick Clark twice, using the skills she had picked up from her nightly kitchen dance performances she enjoyed with her mother in between washing dishes. After high school, she worked as an X-Ray technician until she married the father of her children and moved to South America. This sparked her lifelong love of immersion in different cultures and languages, as she would eventually live and work in Peru, Brazil, Argentina, Switzerland, France, and Germany; as well as speak and understand Spanish, Portuguese, and German. Throughout her life, she also was an avid reader, theatergoer, square dance caller, sports fan, and advanced wine sommelier.
Rhea always had a heart open to the world’s wonders, a mind eager to learn, and a spirit dedicated to aiding others in their pursuits of personal deepening. She graduated at the top of her class at Southwest Missouri State University and became a beloved English and Spanish teacher. Later in her life, Rhea used her tremendous command of the written word to touch the lives of many through her numerous books on the topic of personal growth and development, offering readers a greater understanding of their souls’ journeys. With her reputation as a renowned psychic and spiritual healer, her writings resonated with diverse audiences and were translated into several languages, providing comfort, insight, and a sense of peace across the globe.
Above all, Rhea was a caring wife and grandmother. She is fondly remembered by her husband of 21 years, Christopher Krueger; her two children Kurt (Samantha) Wetzler MDs and Kristin (Brendan Pegg) Arce; her six grandchildren Sophia, Chloe, Natasha, Maxwell, Wyatt, and Ellery; her brother William Baumann; as well as her half-sisters, numerous relatives, and friends. She found immense joy in spending time with loved ones, sharing stories, and creating memories that will be cherished forever. Her wisdom and strong spirit will be deeply missed by all. She will continue to live on through the countless lives she touched and the love she left behind.
