Renae Sue Batt was born and raised in Colorado. She grew up in Westminster and was the youngest of four children. Throughout her childhood and young adult life, she excelled in academics, and eventually pursued a career as a mathematics teacher. Renae and Ron met each other in a church youth group at Peace Lutheran, and the two married June 28, 1986.
Renae taught Junior High and High School students for 26 years. She had a gift for letting her students know how much she cared, and she helped them see their potential and thrive.
As the years went on, Ron and Renae had two daughters, Randi and Richelle. The family had so much fun together and especially loved going on road trips over the summers. They explored many sights from Mt Rushmore, to lakes in Minnesota, to beaches in California.
Renae loved the Lord and was quick to share her faith and the hope she had with others. She had a lovely voice and was also a beautiful writer. She was passionate about many subjects including history, math, science, and even geology. Renae poured her knowledge, love, wisdom, and joy into those around her.
Following her breast cancer diagnosis in 2010, Renae took to the trails. She climbed 12 of the Colorado 14ers and put miles and miles on her mountain bike. Her strength and perseverance is an inspiration to all who knew her. In this season, Renae also discovered the beauty of modified trees and found healing in their ancient, twisted branches.
Renae was a woman who truly lived her life to the fullest. Her light shined so brilliantly and brightly in the 60 years she had on earth, and her memory will always live on. She was an incredible daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. Renae was also an amazing friend and mentor to many. She will be deeply missed.
Renae is survived by her husband: Ronald Batt; her daughters: Randi Oliver & Richelle Reynoso; and her two precious granddaughters: Neleya & Camila Reynoso.
