There are some people you come across that instantly change your life. Their mere presence brings joy and their laugh can somehow turn the darkest days bright. Paul was one of those people. Even when life threw him curveballs, he had a heart for caring for others and doing what he could to make people laugh.
Paul was born in Mason City, Iowa on June 14, 1968 and became a Colorado resident at age 12, subsequently living in Colorado for most of his life. He embraced the real Colorado life. He enjoyed being outside, swimming and camping. A notable fact about Paul was how amazing he was at break dancing. He could flip, spin and move his body in truly artistic ways. He had an amazing way of making friends with anyone he met and was known for his gift of gab. This helped him when he became a student counselor at Pikes Peak Community College, where he inspired others while also gaining knowledge himself. His appreciation of learning in later years prompted plans to continue his studies in the spring.
Paul will forever be remembered and missed by his parents, Christine and Jim Giroux and David Gabrielson; his sisters, Janeice (Bruce) Queen, Jodie (Doug) Fallis, and Shannon (Gary) Dyer; his brother, James Giroux; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 2pm at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary at 6601 S. Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121.
Memorial contributions may be made in Paul's memory to Westside Cares- 2808 W. Colorado Ave., Colorado Springs, CO 80904.
