Patricia Ann (Mlinar) Foltz passed away peacefully on July 2, 2023 after a yearslong struggle with dementia. Born October 24, 1942 in Rock Springs, Wyoming to Ignatz and Zella Mlinar, Pat was a sister to Mabel (deceased), JoAnn (deceased), Jim and Debbie. After graduating from high school, Pat attended nursing school at Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah where she met many lifelong friends. While working as a nurse in Portland, Oregon Pat went on a blind date and met the love of her life, Roy Foltz. They married soon after and started a family, raising Lisa (Mike), Lori (Jim), and Kevin (C) as they moved several times for Roy’s job with the federal government. Finally settling in Lakewood, Colorado, Pat worked in a variety of nursing roles, including almost 20 years in the ophthalmology department at Kaiser Permanente.
Pat developed a wide circle of friends through summers at Bear Creek Swim and Tennis Club, playing in several bridge groups, volunteering during her children’s school years, and taking wonderful trips. Pat was well known for her enthusiastic cheering at her children’s sporting events and committed support of Denver sports teams, especially the Broncos. She loved breakfasts with the Bagel Babes, happy hours with the Silver Seniors, and dinners with the Gourmet Group. But most of all, Pat loved her family and took special pride in her grandchildren Ben and Emily Axelrod; Caitlin, Ryan and Owen Hearty; and Graham and Reed Foltz. She and Roy were a near constant presence on the soccer, football, basketball, and lacrosse sidelines, as well as important milestones along the way. Pat created a family that inherited her love of sports, travel and spending time together.
Pat’s family invites friends to a luncheon reception on July 24th from 11:00-1:00 at the Coventry Clubhouse (5985 S Coventry Lane E, Littleton) followed by a 1:30 funeral mass at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church (6673 W. Chatfield Ave, Littleton). Interment at Olinger Mt. Lindo cemetery will be private. The family thanks the staff at Balfour Senior Living in Littleton for the loving care they provided to Pat and in lieu of flowers, suggests donations to Denver Hospice at https://thedenverhospice.org.
