JoAnn was born on Jan 12, 1933, to Mildred Irene and Newton Issac Sharp in Burlington, CO. She moved to Pueblo in June 1938 and then shortly thereafter to Denver where she went to Fairmont Elementary, Baker Junior High and West High School. She graduated on June 5, 1950. She then went to Western State College in Gunnison, CO for two years earning an associate degree.
After moving back to Denver, she started working at Honeywell where she met George A. Larrabee at the company picnic in May 1953. They were engaged on June 29 and married Nov 27, 1953.
In February 1957, after three and a half years in an apartment, they moved into their lifelong house in Littleton, CO. Here they had their children Janis Gale, May 1957, Gregory Daniel, Dec 1958, and Laura Rene, Aug 1961.
JoAnn was a loving wife, mother and friend. She was engaged with her church and her family. Her favorite pastimes included sewing, bridge, Bible study, mentoring, serving in the nursery, and helping with weddings.
JoAnn was predeceased by her mother and father, her brother Newton, her daughter Janis, and her husband, George. She is survived by her Sisters June and Betty Ruth, her children Greg and Laura, and her grandchildren, Kelli, Daniel, Kaylanne, Rachel, Karri, Jacob, Aimee, Anna and Sheree. She also has 8 great grandchildren with an additional one on the way.
Services will be held at Mission Hills Church (620 South Park Dr, Littleton, CO on April 29, 2024, at two o’clock in the afternoon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Josiah Venture (www.josiahventure.com/give), an organization equipping young leaders in Central and Eastern Europe to fulfill Christ’s commission through the local church. Her daughter, Laura, is a founding member of the organization which started over 30 years ago.
