Mary Ann Beavers was born in Durango, Colorado on November 11, 1945 to parents John James McNamara and Irma Josephine Ford McNamara. She passed away on June 5, 2021 at Sky Ridge Medical Center in Lone Tree, Colorado.
Mary Ann attended catholic school prior to attending college. She met the love of her life, Richard (Dick) at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado where she received her Bachelor’s Degrees in History. They married on July 15, 1967. They lived a short time in Maryland while Dick served in the U.S. Army before returning to Denver.
Upon returning to Denver, Mary Ann and Dick lived on Green Mountain in Lakewood before moving to Centennial to raise their daughter, Kathryn. Mary Ann had a giving heart, dedicating 28 years to Mile High United Way, as a marketing manager working in numerous capacities.
Mary Ann loved to help influence change and did so with various roles including: serving as a member of several leadership committees with Mile High United Way, The Rocky Mountain Direct Marketing Association on the education and membership committee and the board of directors, a member of the American Association of University Women, the National Association of Female Executives, and the Newton Middle School Management Council.
Mary Ann was devoted to her family, friends, and her faith. She loved being a mother and grandmother and her family will dearly miss her jokes and selfless heart. When she was younger, she enjoyed taking care of and riding her horse, Firefly, along with skiing and jeeping in Southwestern, Colorado. She was very artistic (she would disagree). She also enjoyed playing cribbage, reading, going for drives in the mountains with her husband, and spending time with friends and especially her daughter, son-in-law, and grandson. She loved her grandson so much.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 53 years, Richard (Dick); her daughter Kathryn (Ryan) Dole; her grandson, Aiden Dole, and one sister.
Visitation for Mary Ann will be held on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 10:00am, followed by a Memorial Service at 10:30am at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary.
