Mark Arthur Wolk

Mark Arthur Wolk , Sr., 77, passed away the evening of April 11, 2022 at his home in Parker, CO, surrounded by his family, after a long 6 week hospitalization in University Hospital in Aurora, CO.

Cause of death was due to multiple complications stemming from Norovirus, a violent stomach flu.

He was born August 24, 1944 in Minocqua, WI, the son of Archibald (Archie) William Wolk & Fern Patricia (Schilling) Wolk.

Mark attended Lakeland Union High School and graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science Degree.

Once moving to Colorado in the early 1980’s Mark embarked on a career in homebuilding and was also a real estate broker for over 40 years.

After being married and divorced twice, Mark met the love of his life, Jan Bertsch, in church in the mid 1990’s. After a long friendship they married in 2010.

He was preceded in death by his parents Archibald William Wolk 1900 – 1969 & Fern Patricia (Schilling) Wolk 1905 – 1985 and 8 brothers and sisters, Thomas R. Wolk 1927 – 2009, Patricia M. Wolk /Titus 1929 – 2002, Maxine J. Wolk / Canadeo 1930-1986, William F. Wolk 1932-2008, Peter J. Wolk 1933 – 2015, Michael J. Wolk 1935 – 2007, Anne Timara Wolk/Semmerling 1938 – 2008, Rosalie J. Wolk / Spoerke 1940 – 2000.

He is survived by his wife, Jan Bertsch & their 12 year old Havanese puppy, Parker whom he adored. Three children Mark Wolk, Jr. / Pauline (Paula), Parker, CO, Paul (Ollie) Wolk / Karol, Pelican Lake, WI, Wendy (Wolk) Neuendank / Robert (Bob), Rhinelander, WI, 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and one brother Joseph (Joe) K. Wolk, Schofield, WI.

Mark was a kind, caring, generous & compassionate born again Christian man of faith that loved God with all of his heart. He impacted many lives of others over his lifetime and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Mark had a very big heart!

His Celebration of Life service will be held May 14, 2022, 2:00pm – 3:00pm, reception 3:00pm – 5:00 pm at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6601 South Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121. (303)771-3960
