Marion Delores Spencer-McClendon, born September 8, 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA. Through the Catholic Church, she was adopted into the Spencer family at a young age. Marion was the youngest daughter in the family. Her sister Viola Wilson has since deceased after a full life.
Marion attended the Pittsburgh Public School system, including Westinghouse High School. Afterwards she worked various jobs. At age 19 she met and married Earl McClendon, and became surrounded by a large loving family, “The McClendon’s”. They loved her dearly. Those who remain, the sister, and hosts of nieces and nephews still love and adore her to this day.
Three children were born through her union with Earl McClendon: Adrienne M, Earl Jr., and Raphael (Raye). Her grandchildren are Eric N., Jacob, Christopher A., Jarren I., and Roman J. Her great-grandchildren are David M., Allison W.
Marion is a member of Colorado Community Church in Aurora, Colorado. She received her Savior, Jesus Christ as LORD in the year of 1975, and since has been faithful to live out her confession of faith in God. She is a true worshipper and loves the Church. Through the years she has been active in various ministries: at one church she served as the head of the Nursery Department, and at another church she served as the Church Announcer.
Marion was a truly a fun-loving and genuine friend to all. She is patient, and kind and gentle in spirit. A lively person and open to give of herself; her time to talk, to listen, to cry with you, laugh with you, and share her crafts made with her own hands. Marion is much loved by neighbors, friends, and pets. Where-ever she goes people gravitate to her and sincerely love her.
She earned many endearing names over the years from: Mom to Lolli-Lulu, Aunt Marion, Momma Marion, GRANDMA, Granny, Moms, “Old Lady”, and Precious One. She answers to them all. She has life-long friends who live in Colorado and outside of Colorado who still send their love through cards and gifts.
Since 2018, Marion has been residing at The Suites at Parker, in Parker, CO. On February 24, 2021 at 11:07am, Marion at 92 years of age, was called home by The Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, her Lord Savior.
