Kevin began his life’s journey here in Denver in the same hospital as his mother. He spent the first part of this journey living in the mountains. He had two horses, three huskies, and any animal that people came to the family as a stray. However, they moved to south Denver for school activities that where not available in Indian Hills .
Kevin loved all kinds of sports especially his Broncos and his Rockies, but really anything would due. As with a lot of people here John Elway was his idol. He had the same number seven in Pony League. In fact he had a life size, stand up model of John Elway in the living room because it was too big to go his room. His first love was baseball. From the first time he played catch with his Grandpa, until well into his teenage years, he would spend hour after hour throwing his baseball against whatever wall he could find.
He loved being outside but could be found in his room reading .He enjoyed a wide array of books from inspirational to fiction of all kinds, but most importantly, the Bible. He would end almost every day, reading the Bible.
He was incredibly benevolent. He never passed anyone that needed money without giving them something, even if he needed it. He made friends with his trash man, because he felt guilty for putting so much at the curb.
As a teenager, Kevin and his friend, Jim, were magicians. He and his mom had rabbits and doves. Just like with everything else for which he was passionate, he got carried away. Jim and Kevin just about lived at the magic shop at the mall. Next door to the magic shop, was a pet store. They were making room for new animals, so Kevin brought home their famous flying squirrel. The bat-like thing got loose in the house and they saw it go down into the basement. The squirrel was never to be seen again.
First and foremost was his love for his son Tyler. He would drop anything to be with him. They shared many memories, including their baseball card game
If it were up to Kevin, it would be summer all year round, with his family and friends, a grill, an endless supply of food to cook, and a playlist that would never end.
