Joyce was born in New York City to Augustine P Stahl and Anne Joyce Stahl. She graduated High School from Dominican Commercial High School in Jamica, New York. She married Francis M Fennelly in August of 1957 in New York City. Francis and Joyce had three sons, Kevin, Michael, and Brian. Francis passed away in July of 1975. Joyce was also married to Geoff O’Connell and Robert Burkhardt, both of whom also preceded her in death. Joyce lived an active and social life in Queens, New York, and then Port St. Lucie and Stuart, Florida. While Joyce had various jobs, she finished her career as a Postal Carrier while living in Port St. Lucie. She was very involved in all her children’s activities, as well as the Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, various Irish Clubs and many other groups and clubs.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents Augustine and Anne Stahl, her husband’s Francis Fennelly, Geoff O’Connell, and Robert Burkhardt, her sisters, Anne Stahl, Catherine Zupher, and Ellen Heck and sons Kevin Fennelly and Michael Fennelly.
Joyce is survived by her sister Regina Fagan, son Brian (Kathy) Fennelly, grandchildren Colleen (Sean) Fallon, Francis Fennelly, Timothy Fennelly, Kevin Fennelly, and Caroline Fennelly and great granddaughter Ellen Joy Fallon.
There will be two memorial Funeral services held for Joyce. The first, on her birthday, Saturday, December 9th at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Stuart Florida. The second will be held in Centennial Colorado with an open house at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary at 6 pm, Thursday January 4, 2024, with a service in Denver at The Church of the Risen Christ at 9:30 a.m. Friday January 5, 2024.
