Joseph Williams Rupp passed peacefully into eternity on December 5, 2017 at the age of 93. "Poppa Joe" was a loving husband of 66 years, a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather. Mr. Rupp, or "One Shot" as he liked to be called, proudly served his country during WWII as a Navy gunner and then served a second time during the Korean War as an Air Force officer. First among his many avocations he was a teacher, in the classroom and in life. Joseph was a quiet man with an endearing sense of humor who was always acknowledged as a leader whether it was in Boy Scouts or as captain of his beloved bowling team.
He is survived by his wife Joan, children Michael, Susan, & Killienne, adoptive daughter Char, grandchildren Miles, Kelsey & Christie, and great granddaughter Emma.
Services will be held at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary and Cemetery in Centennial on Saturday, December 16th, at 10:30 am followed by internment with military honors and reception on site at noon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joe’s honor to The Denver Hospice, online at www.thedenverhospice.org.
