John was a thoroughly outgoing man, making immediate friends with waiters and businessmen alike. An avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, John recently spent 10 days camping in Kremmling and had begun decorating with his own wildlife photography.
John was born in Boulder, Colorado. He grew up in a military family after his mother Barbara married a career U.S. Soldier, Mike Lowe. The oldest of four children, John and his family moved around the world living in Ethiopia, Boise, and Estes Park.
After graduating from the University of Idaho with a degree in Architecture, John began his career in Denver where he had three children. John would live, work and play in Colorado for the rest of his life.
In 1995, John married Nancy Vaughan, an interior designer with two children. He contributed time to coaching his kids' basketball teams and designing church spaces.
John is survived by his wife of twenty-one years, five children, four grandchildren, a great granddaughter, his mother, two sisters, a brother and the many men and women whose lives he made more joyful.
The family will receive guests for viewing and visitation, Wednesday January 4, 2017 from 1PM - 2PM, with a Memorial Service following at 2PM. Both visitation and memorial service will be held at Highline Community Church, 6160 S. Wabash Way, Greenwood Village, CO. 80111.
