Dr. Joe Bert Trimble was a modest man, quiet and observant in his ways. He was trustworthy and traditional in his approach to his life and in his relationships. He was tough-minded with the kind of “stick to it” attitude that earned the respect of all who knew him. He was also a man who was meticulous, carefully disciplined, and orderly in virtually everything he undertook. Realistic about life, he was always at the ready, prepared to take on responsibility.
He was the son of Lester and Berta Trimble. Joe grew up in Clovis, New Mexico.
Joe was raised with two siblings. He had an older sister, Phyllis, and one younger brother, Jerry. Joe was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. He and his siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
As a young boy, Joe had a number of interests. Like most children, he enjoyed playing and making up games. He was curious about the world around him and was often eager to explore it. Joe was an active child who took part in softball and high jump. However, to Joe, the most fun to be had was simply playing and spending time with his friends.
Joe enjoyed his college years, which may have been a challenge with all of the academics, responsibilities, and the sudden freedom that accompanied them, but Joe was able to manage the balancing act. He also pursued graduate school, earning his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.
Always considered a “good” friend to those he knew, Joe enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during his lifetime. Later in life, he became friends with Howard and Linda Reddick.
On July 19, 1957 Joe exchanged wedding vows with Rita Joyce Neal in Rita's Backyard of Stratford, Texas. Empathic and loyal, Joe was committed to making his new family happy.
Joe worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Joe was blessed with six children, three sons, Phillip, Michael, and John, and three daughters, Mari, Sara, and Jennifer. Another blessing for Joe was the gift of sixteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Joshua, Kalen, Koahl, J. T., Rachael, Michael, Daniel, Emily, Nyssa, AJ, Taylor, Britta, Taylor, Austin, Caleb, Levi and Jayden.
Fortunately, Joe enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Joe worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. His primary occupation was Veterinarian. Joe always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Joe enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. His favorite pursuit was gardening. He was content to enjoy his favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share his interests with others.
Joe found pleasure in sports. In high school, Joe ran track. Recreational sports included handball and basketball. Joe was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following his favorite events whenever he had the chance to do so.
Joe was a member of Misson Hills Church for 32 years. He embedded faith in the Lord Jesus Christ in his children, who in turn passed on our Savior's love to their children. No time was too difficult for him, as he was heard to say that God had a reason for everything. Instead of fearing the passage of time, he accepted it with joy. Every minute was a gift until the day we would be home with the Father.
Joe enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for him to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. Favorite vacations included Hawaii.
Joe was a lover of animals and cherished his pets. One of his favorites was Spice, a one-eyed Siamese cat, Wickerbell, a Chihuahua-daschund mix, Bluffy, a German shepherd, and Dawg, a Doberman-lab mix.
In retirement, he renewed his interest in gardening and reading. Even in retirement, Joe continued to stay in touch with his old friends while making plenty of new acquaintances. Joe was active in his new community and felt fulfilled with the opportunities retirement offered him.
Joe passed away on August 15, 2010 in Littleton, Colorado. He is survived by his wife, Rita, his children, Phil, Mike, Mari, Sara. John, and Jennifer, 16 Grandchildren, and one Great-Grandchild. Services will be held at Front Range Christian School. Joe was laid to rest in Olinger Chapel Hill Cemetery in Littleton, Colorado.
Simply stated, Joe was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Joe leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Dr. Joe Bert Trimble.
Following the service will be a pot-luck reception.
John 3:16-36
[16]For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
[17] For God sent the Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.
[18] He who believes in him is not condemned; he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
[19] And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
[20] For every one who does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.
[21] But he who does what is true comes to the light, that it may be clearly seen that his deeds have been wrought in God.
[22]
After this Jesus and his disciples went into the land of Judea; there he remained with them and baptized.
[23] John also was baptizing at Ae'non near Salim, because there was much water there; and people came and were baptized.
[24] For John had not yet been put in prison.
[25]
Now a discussion arose between John's disciples and a Jew over purifying.
[26] And they came to John, and said to him, "Rabbi, he who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you bore witness, here he is, baptizing, and all are going to him."
[27] John answered, "No one can receive anything except what is given him from heaven.
[28] You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but I have been sent before him.
[29] He who has the bride is the bridegroom; the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly at the bridegroom's voice; therefore this joy of mine is now full.
[30] He must increase, but I must decrease."
[31]
He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth belongs to the earth, and of the earth he speaks; he who comes from heaven is above all.
[32] He bears witness to what he has seen and heard, yet no one receives his testimony;
[33] he who receives his testimony sets his seal to this, that God is true.
[34] For he whom God has sent utters the words of God, for it is not by measure that he gives the Spirit;
[35] the Father loves the Son, and has given all things into his hand.
[36] He who believes in the Son has eternal life; he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God rests upon him
John 14:6
[6] Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me.
Romans 3:23-24
23] since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
[24] they are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus,
Romans 5:8
[8] But God shows his love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.
Romans 6:23
[23] For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:14
[14] For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
Romans 10:9-10
[9] because, if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
[10] For man believes with his heart and so is justified, and he confesses with his lips and so is saved.
Romans 15:13
[13]
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
Ephesians 2:8-10
[8] For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God --
[9] not because of works, lest any man should boast.
[10] For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Titus 2:11-14
10] nor to pilfer, but to show entire and true fidelity, so that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.
[11]
For the grace of God has appeared for the salvation of all men,
[12] training us to renounce irreligion and worldly passions, and to live sober, upright, and godly lives in this world,
[13] awaiting our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
[14] who gave himself for us to redeem us from all iniquity and to purify for himself a people of his own who are zealous for good deeds.
James 2:20-26
[20] Do you want to be shown, you shallow man, that faith apart from works is barren?
[21] Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he offered his son Isaac upon the altar?
[22] You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by works,
[23] and the scripture was fulfilled which says, "Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness"; and he was called the friend of God.
[24] You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone.
[25] And in the same way was not also Rahab the harlot justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?
[26] For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so faith apart from works is dead.
I John 1:8
[8] If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
I John 3:1-4
[1]
See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
[2] Beloved, we are God's children now; it does not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
[3] And every one who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.
[4]
Every one who commits sin is guilty of lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.
I John 5:11-12
[11] And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
[12] He who has the Son has life; he who has not the Son of God has not life.
