Joan Hahn, aged 90, died February 21st, 2020, at her home in Brighton, Colorado. Joan was born in Ventura, California, to Helen and Ira Hahn and is survived by her younger sister Kay. The family also lived in Oklahoma and Kansas while the girls grew up- oil-producing states due to Ira’s engineering background. Joan never married and never had children, and lived with her parents until they passed.
Joan had a career in banking at Wells Fargo bank, and drove herself every year to to the retired employee breakfast. After her parents died, Joan sold their home and bought her own house in Brighton in 2008, where she continued living life to the fullest. She bought a motor home and joined two camping groups to give her lots of options to get outdoors. She walked her dogs (Tibet, a Shih-Tzu was first; followed by Ebony, a miniature black schnauzer) every day regardless of the weather. She did Sudoko puzzles like a mastermind, and read voraciously. She loved her church, United Methodist of Brighton, and especially enjoyed bantering with her fellow parishioners and her pastors about the true meaning of being a Christian and the real lessons of the Bible.
Joan will be deeply missed by her sister Kay, her brother-in-law Thomas; her nieces and nephews (by relation and by marriage): Julia, Claire, Mark, Matthew, Christopher, Yoel and Christopher; and her grand nieces and nephews Samantha, Madeline, Alexander and Oliver. She will also be dearly missed by her friends and neighbors in Brighton, and her fellow members at United Methodist.
Memorial Service will be held March 27th, 2020, beginning at 11 a.m.
