Our most beloved son, brother, and brother-in-law, Jason G. Kohut passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 5th, 2024 at the age of 37 in Littleton, Colorado. He was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan on March 22, 1987.
Growing up, Jason was interested in many sports like roller hockey, baseball, football, golf, snowboarding and his most favorite - video games. He was also a surprisingly talented artist.
He attended Lake Orion High School and graduated in 2005. He took a few classes at Oakland Community College and then chose to work in the food industry. He then became his Dad's partner in the JAM N' (Jason and Mike) Limousine business and was fortunate to drive Chubby Checkers up to a Petosky casino for a weekend. His last job in Colorado was Goodwill and that Is where he met a few friends.
He enjoyed many family vacations to Alaska, California, Disney World, a Caribbean cruise, and to the Olympics in Atlanta to name a few. Some of his favorite trips were with our annual camping friends for over 20 years. He recently enjoyed rafting with his family in Colorado and snowboarding with his dad.
Jason was known to be kind and quiet. However, he always kept up with his brother Shaun in any adventure and always wanted to be in the company of his sister, Kelsey. He knew how to make someone laugh, and always had a smile on his face. He had an infectious smile even though he struggled with mental illness for the past 12 years. The best way to his heart was his stomach. He especially loved his late-night snacks of ice cream and cereal. He also loved family celebrations throughout the year. Most of all, he was his dad's best buddy.
He is survived by his parents, Mike and Darlene, his siblings, Shaun and Kelsey, and brother-in-law, TJ.
Memorial services will be held at Washtenong Memorial Park and Mausoleum at 3771 Whitmore Lake Road in Ann Arbor, Michigan on May 24th, 2024 at 1:00 p.m.
Additional memorial services will be held at Olinger Mount Lindo Cemetery at 5928 S. Turkey Creek Road in Morrison, Colorado on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 1:00 P.M.
Jason will be missed by all who knew him.
