James W. Manning was born in Birmingham, Michigan on December 7, 1929. He graduated from Culver Military Academy in 1947. He received a BA and MBA from the University of Michigan. He retired as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army after service during the Korean War. His vocation of real estate development included the first condominium in Aspen as well as numerous office buildings in the Denver metro area. He was elected to City Council in Cherry Hills Village in 1972, and was later appointed to a seat on both the CHV Planning Board and Board of Adjustment. He served on the Swedish Medical Center Foundation Board. Jim was President of Mansfield Heights Water & Sanitation District for 38 years and served a total of 47 years. He is survived by his wife of 62+ years Harriet, his son Bill Manning and friend Judy Bolis of Golden, CO, daughter Laura Manning Churchill and husband Scott Churchill of Littleton, CO, as well as 3 grandchildren, Paul Churchill and fiancée Mayumy Roman, Sarah Churchill and Kelly Churchill.
