Jacob (Jake) John Gadeken was born April 6, 2003, in Greeley, Colorado to Susan Gadeken and John Gadeken. When Jake was two, the family relocated to Castle Rock where Jake attended Academy Charter School and recently graduated from Douglas County High School. He relished all the adventure and action Colorado offers. Jake played football and lacrosse for Douglas County High School. He was one of the top lacrosse prospects in the country and played club for Denver Elite. A few of his major accomplishments were playing for the Under Armor All-American Team and making the all-star team for the coveted Showtime Tournament establishing him as one of the best high school defensive players in the country. Jake also loved skiing, hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle and other outdoor activities. His charisma, smile, and big personality will forever be missed. Jake was a gentle, compassionate son, and a caring brother and friend, who deeply loved his dog, Tucker.
Jake passed Monday, June 28. He is survived by his mother Susan, father John, older brother Benjamin, grandparents, Shirley and Leonard Gadeken and Loretta and Harold Martin, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, July 10, 3:30 p.m. at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6601 S. Colorado Blvd. in Centennial, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jake Gadeken Memorial Scholarship Fund.
