“A Battle to Fight, An Adventure to Live and A Beauty to Rescue”
Gary was born in Gatewood, CA on September 2, 1945 to Elmer and Virginia Kiepke. His siblings are: Bob Kiepke, Ted Kiepke, and Patty McCabe.
He met the love of his life, ‘his beauty to rescue’, Cathy Breitenstein at Northern Arizona University. They embarked on their ‘adventure to live’ when they were married August 13, 1966 in Farmington, N.M., and were blessed with three wonderful children: Jeff, Brent, and Casey. In 1975, Gary made the decision of a lifetime to receive Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior.
In 1991, Brent married Shannon and they now have two children, Tyler (13) and Elizabeth (8). A year later, Jeff wed Mindy and now have five girls, Corissa (14), Jesslyn (13), Cameron (10), Ashton (9) and Kadyn (5). Casey married Chuck in 2004, and have two boys, Issac (7) and Elijah (10 mon.).
Gary will long be remembered for his love for the Lord, his knowledge of God’s Word, and his utmost devotion to Cathy and his family. As a young man, he was considered one of Northern Arizona’s exceptional athletes, receiving numerous awards and scholarships. His love of sports continued throughout his life by coaching many youth teams, bird hunting, fly fishing, bow hunting, and playing in several golf tournaments. One of his favorite pastimes was watching his grandchildren participate in their sports and activities. Professionally, he was very accomplished as an entrepreneur and top national Sales Manager. Gary was steadfast and faithful to the Lord in every ‘battle to fight’, using integrity, optimism, and even his great sense of humor. Gary has always and will continue to be considered a great leader among men and a strong warrior who fought the good fight, ran the race to win, and gave all glory and honor to our Lord, Jesus Christ.
