Errol Dean Jackson was born May 21, 1951 in Denver, CO to Janet A.Woolsey and William Dean Jackson. Errol and his sister, Cheryl, met missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1965. Errol was baptized in early 1966 and later had the privilege of baptizing his mother into the church as well. He graduated from Arapahoe High School in 1969. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Oakland/San Francisco, CA mission from 1971-1973.
Errol attended Brigham Young University where he met and fell in love with Tamera Kump. After a short courtship they married on June 30, 1978. They celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary this summer. While in college, Errol would fly home on the weekends to work at King Soopers. After their wedding they returned to Colorado so Errol could work at King Soopers full time.
Errol loved being a grocer and spent his entire career in the industry. In his later years he worked in Highlands Ranch, CO, where he had a great impact on the community and was well-loved by those who shopped at his store. After 45 years of service, Errol retired as Store Manager from King Soopers in 2021.
In his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, traveling to St. George and Hawaii, serving in the Denver Temple, eating good food, and listening to good music. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed life. In October 2023 he was diagnosed with ALS and passed just a few weeks later on November 1, 2023.
Errol is preceded in death by his parents William and Janet, step-father Jack Larsen and son Zachary. He is survived by his wife Tammy, children Lindsey and Hunter (Kristie), and grandchildren Keelia, Hadlee, Logan and Brody. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed for his great acts of kindness and generous nature.
A viewing will be held November 16 from 4-6 pm at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6601 S Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121. His memorial service will be November 17 at 10 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints- Easter Chapel, 1939 E Easter Ave, Centennial, CO 80122.
