Chicago, IL. Along with his two older sisters, his formative years were spent in
South Chicago, surrounded by a large extended Polish family. It was a proud Pop
who saw him graduated from Indiana State University in 1972.
On a road trip to California, Ernie stopped in Colorado to visit his sister, Vivian,
and was so struck by the beauty of Colorado that he went home, packed up his
belongings, and moved to Colorado. He didn’t make it to California for another 17
years.
Ernie’s love was commercial real estate and he spent his career succeeding as
Executive VP with Interurban Companies. His love of the Colorado mountains led
to several cabins and a passion for fishing. He exhibited considerable artistic skills
through woodwork, stained glass and, in retirement, resin epoxy artwork which
he donated to his favorite charities.
Ernie gathered friends through many walks of his life and kept them close to his
heart, delighting them all with his sense of humor. He is survived by his wife,
Alice, and daughter, Katie. Sisters Chris and Vivian, brothers-in-law John, Jeff, and
Bob, brother-cuz Dennis, mother-in-law Kathleen, nieces, nephews, and many
friends.
If you wish, donations can be made to Denver Children’s Hospital or Make A Wish
of Colorado in his name.
