Ernest (Ernie) R. Cox, 82 of Centennial, Colorado passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents William P. Cox and Doris M. Cox of Lubbock, TX, his son Sgt. Kevin D. Cox of Lubbock, TX, and his baby grandson Matthew N. Dudgeon. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Fredia L. Cox, their three daughters Karen Buechler and husband Chris, of Casper, WY, Kathy Ancell and husband Jeff of Lubbock, TX, Kristi Dudgeon and husband Bill of Casper, WY, and daughter in law Tonya Cox of Lubbock, TX. He is also survived by 3 brothers, William P. Cox Jr., James G. Cox and wife Carol, David B. Cox and wife Karen. Additionally, he is survived by 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, Heather Blancet, husband Brice and their 2 children Hattie Pearl and Boone Rex of Anson, TX, Elizabeth Barrett, husband Nicholas and their daughter Eredyn Skye of Casper, WY, Colton Ancell and Ainsley Pino of Liberty Hill, TX, Hunter Cox, wife Kathleen and their daughters Adalae and Leah Grace of Sweetwater, TX, Christopher Dudgeon of Casper, WY, Cayman Ancell and wife Kayla of Lubbock, TX, and Cambrie Ancell of Lubbock, TX.
Ernie married his beautiful, loving, wife Fredia in August of 1962 and began their family in June of 1963. Ernie graduated in 1968 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Soon after graduation he began working for Amoco Oil which provided him and his family an amazing opportunity to travel the world.
After retirement, Ernie enjoyed bowling, poker, puzzles, and sports collectibles. He was a gun enthusiast and a member of the Centennial Gun Club. He was an avid reader and enjoyed a good sense of humor as well as teasing his loved ones. Most of all he enjoyed being with his family. Ernie will always be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.
