Doug was born in Homestead, PA to the late Earl and Kathleen Parker. He was youngest twin and 3rd son in the Parker household. When Doug was 13, The Parker family moved back to Colorado. He graduated from George Washington High School in 1973.
Cheryl was introduced to Doug when her friend invited her over to her apartment to meet her beau's twin brother. It wasn't long before Cheryl and Doug became serious and married on June 7, 1975. Dan joined the family followed by Kelly. Camping and sending time in the Mountains as favorite past time and a way to bring the whole family together. Family was number one for Doug.
Outside of family, Doug's second love was music. His favorite guitar was his red Fender Stratocaster and played in the Polo in the Park with Ginger Baker, drummer from the band Cream. He loved expressing myself when playing the guitar, was mostly self-taught, and was very talented and naturally gifted.
