I just learned of the passing of my brother the other day. He and I never really had a chance at a real relationship and I regret that. If there is some possibility that Bonnie and/or Mike or Mark could be notified I would greatly appreciate it. My cell number is 713-907-1018. Over the years, I have thought of Denny and wondered how he was doing. I always admired his hard work ethic and loyalty to family. It must have really been tough transferring so much with Firestone. Denny, I love you and pray that you are happy with Mom and Dad and Mamoo and PaPa in Heaven. Tell them I miss them all so much!

For almost a decade, Dennis and I worked out at the South Denver Cardiology gym.  Afterward workouts, several of us from the gym would get coffee and shoot the breeze.   Dennis was known for his knowledge of TV,  movie, and pop music trivia.   He enjoyed talk about automobiles, and along with the rest of us would look lovingly upon high-end cars that would occasionally show up in the parking lot.   His own car looked like an unmarked police car.  Dennis, with his neatly trimmed haircut and sunglasses sure looked a lot like a policeman.  He joked that he had a ticket book and would write us up if we misbehaved.

He had a humorous side that often got a workout at the gym.  He often shared jokes, and had a twinkle in his eye when he'd tease.

He spoke frequently of his youth and his varied work experience.   His experiences managing tire stores provided many anecdotes.  Politics is a frequently discussed subject in the gym where most of the participants are past retirement age.  Dennis did not shy from the subject, and on occasion would get worked up when folks would argue with him.  Dennis was proud of his military service and was a strong supporter of pro-veteran policy.   

Dennis had been through a lot.   As one of our group said, "he is one tough bird."  We all were shocked by his decline, and are saddened by his loss.

The foremost memory I will keep of Dennis was his obvious love for his family.   He spoke often of his boys, his daughter-in-law, and his granddaughters.  He was very proud of all of them.

He will be greatly missed.
