He was born August 29, 1953, to Hubert Paul Disney and Opal lee McConnell in Denver, Colorado.
Dave went to high school at Littleton High School and graduated in 1971. He went on to attend Sheet Metal Trade School, the University of Colorado, Baptist Bible College West, and Liberty University, earning various certificates and degrees, including Associate and Bachelor Degrees of Theology.
Dave worked for 42 years as a Baptist Missionary in Chile, South America. There, he faithfully followed the Lord’s Command of Matthew 28:19-20, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” During those years, many people came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior.
Dave always applied his favorite verse in his work: 2 Timothy 2:2, “And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also”. As a result, several missions works and churches have been built and are now independent and operated by capable, faithful Chilean pastors and workers. Dave would be the first to say, “May all the glory be given to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Englewood, Colorado throughout the years that he lived in the States, and loved participating in children’s ministries, bus ministries, visitation, and preaching and teaching wherever he could. His favorite hobbies, which were part of his ministry wherever he went, were Gospel Magic and Ventriloquism.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Opal Lee Disney. He is survived by his father, Hubert Disney, of Littleton, CO; His wife, Peggy Johnson Disney, of Littleton, CO; His sister, Sally Carroll, of Colorado Springs, CO; and his brother, Phil Disney, of Woodstock, GA; as well as nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces, and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Silver State Baptist Youth Camp through the First Baptist Church of Englewood, CO; P. O. Box 467; Englewood, CO 80151-0467.
