Daryl attended Maysville High School, graduating in 1948, before continuing his education at the University of Missouri. He married the love of his life, Marilyn Berry, on December 27, 1953, in Maysville, Missouri where he worked in farming. Daryl served his country in the United States Army as a Corporal in the Korean War, specifically during the Battle of Pork Chop Hill. Daryl and his wife then relocated to Colorado in 1966. While in Colorado, Daryl worked in agricultural chemical sales, real estate, painting, and most notably as the President and Financial Officer of Willows Child Learning Centers, which he was instrumental in establishing. Daryl was ethical, joyous, giving, and truly blessed.
Daryl loved woodworking, camping, hiking, and anything outdoors, including birds, nature, and wildlife. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church in Parker, Colorado. Daryl was slow to anger, quick to forgive, and lived his life with style, grace, and love. He will be truly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
