Clifford S. Barker

Cliff was born in Canton, Ohio, August 31, 1955 to Clifford and Joanne (Nigriny) Barker. During in his childhood they lived in many places, including Florida and Michigan. At Michigan State University, he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering and met Jean. They we’re married April 28, 1979. His career in the oil and gas industry moved them him to Oklahoma City, and then to Denver in 1985. He went on to graduate from the University of Denver with a Master of Business degree. Cliff’s three children are Sam, Carrie (Tomlinson) and Alex. Cliff found joy in connecting with friends, spending time in Winter Park, and his dog, Hannah.

Cliff is survived by his wife Jean; children Sam, Carrie and Alex; siblings Russell Barker, Mitchell Barker, Linda Cummins and Alan Barker; and aunt Sybil Tittle. Cliff is preceded in death by his father and mother, Clifford and Joanne Barker.

In Cliff’s honor, and in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Denver Rescue Mission. He always donated to this cause around Christmas in honor of friends and family. https://www.denverrescuemission.org/donate.

A service to celebrate Cliff’s life will be held Saturday, January 23, 2016, 2 p.m., at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary. Reception to follow at the Barker home.
