Christine M. Mroch

June 22, 1948 - May 10, 2014

Christine Maria Mroch was born in Elmhurst, Illinois to Carl J. and Evelyn A. (Merz) Schuster. When three weeks old, on July 11, she received the gift of Holy Baptism and became a child of God. On April 15, 1962, she publicly confessed her faith and was confirmed in the Lutheran Christian faith. She attended St. John's Lutheran School and graduated from Walther Lutheran High School of Melrose Park, IL. She studied and became a registered nurse at Lutheran Hospital in St. Louis, later receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

On April 4, 1970, Christine married Thomas Paul Mroch at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lombard, Illinois. His ministry and her career saw them living in LaPorte, IN; Omaha, NE; Colorado Springs; Kent, Ohio; Seward and Kearney, NE before settling in Aurora, Colorado, where Chris finished out her career at Denver's new Children's Hospital.

Chris loved her Lord and Savior and had great joy in sharing the love of God with all. She led Bible studies, Vacation Bible School classes and crafts and women's retreats. Christine, like her father,loved singing in numerous church choirs and music. She found joy in cooking and baking, gardening, scrapbooking, reading, traveling God's great world, and serving others. Her children and their spouses, and especially her grandchildren, were a very precious part of her life.

Chris is survived by her husband, Thomas Mroch, of Aurora, Colorado; her two children, Julie (Steve) Luplow and Jonathan (Janell); three grandchildren, Emily and Jacob Luplow and Abigail Mroch; her mother, Evelyn and her two brothers, Phillip (Karen) and Michael (Laura).

She was preceded in death by her father, Carl John Schuster.

May she rest in peace and in the love and grace of the Lord Jesus.

Her memorial service will be held at 3:30 pm on Friday, May 16, 2014, at Our Father Lutheran Church, Centennial, Colorado.
