parents Albert and Naomi Wieder and her two brothers. She
spent most of her life in the Denver metro area. Cheryl passed
away January 9, 2024, in Aurora Colorado.
Cheryl's service will be held on Saturday, January 20th at 1:30 PM at the Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary @ 6601 S. Colorado Blvd. in Centennial CO.
Cheryl (known as Cherie) attended Byers Junior High School and
South High School. She graduated from Colorado State
University and the Denver Police Academy.
Cherie loved her two brothers, Charles “Chuck” and Albert “Bud”,
and stood up well to their brotherly teasing.
Cherie’s nephews David and Carl and nieces Lynne and Jenifer
were important to her, and she was always available to help them.
Cherie loved playing games and interacting with her family.
Cherie dropped out of college in 1965 and moved to California to
care for her brother Bud and his three-year-old daughter Lynne
after the death of her sister-in-law Barbara.
She was also a caregiver and advocate for her parents and other
older relatives.
Cheryl was employed with Saint Paul, and Home Insurance
Companies as a valued employee.
Cherie was an animal lover and often took in stray cats and loved
to feed the birds and squirrels. She supported many animal-
based non-profits and sanctuaries in her later years.
Cherie was also a lover of nice cars, and her pride and joy was
her 1995 red Corvette.
Cherie was a talented artist, working in many different mediums
over the years.
Cherie married Jack Moore on August 20, 1977, at her parents’
home in Evergreen Colorado.
Cherie was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Naomi
Wieder, her bothers Chuck and Bud and her sister-in-law Gail
Wieder. She is survived by her sister-in-law Ilene Wieder, her
nieces Lynne and Jenifer, and her nephews David and Carl and
their families.
