If a life well-lived is judged by the love and kindness one gave, Cathy certainly lived well. Cathy was born March 18, 1944 to Katherine (Conner) and Norman Erard in Denver, Colorado. She was a member of the second graduating class of Thomas Jefferson High School (1962), and married her high school sweetheart David Crist. Together they raised 3 children, and enjoyed 7 grandchildren, and ran David’s Optometric practice, University Hills Eye Center. Cathy was an active member of Hope United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her volunteer work with Meals On Wheels. Cathy was an avid sports fan, especially her beloved Broncos. She had many friendships that spanned the years, including her high school girlfriends who she still met with monthly. But the thing she loved the most was spending time with her grandchildren.
Cathy died peacefully on April 4, 2015 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. She is survived by her best friend and husband of 51 years, David, children Scott, Kelly Blosser (Wes), and Katie Smith (Evan), grandchildren Maxwell, Tatum and Morgan Blosser, Jackson and Shelby Crist, and Owen and Bennett Smith.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the many friends and family who showered Cathy with kindness, love and care during her struggle with cancer.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Cathy’s memory to WINGS OF HOPE FOR PANCREATIC CANCER RESEARCH at www.wingsofhopecr.org.
A Memorial Service celebrating Cathy’s life will be held Friday, April 24 at 2p.m. at Hope United Methodist Church, 5101 S. Dayton St., Greenwood Village, CO.
