Brooks Estelle Flori, age 71, passed away April 9, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Brooks was born on September 10, 1953 to Howard and Alice Hickey in Mount Vernon, Washington. While she was born in Washington, she moved around frequently as a child and in her words “went to a new school every year.”
Brooks suffered a stroke in February 1997 that despite leaving her physically disabled, it never dampened her spirit and sense of humor. She was an avid reader and spent her time frequenting the local libraries. When not at the library, she was dedicated to attending her weekly pool therapy sessions. And more than anything, enjoyed spending her time with her family and caring friends.
Always the life of the party, her laughter, chatty nature, and positive outlook will be missed. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Dan; two loving daughters Megan (Matt King) and Kristin (Tim Berges); three (soon to be four) adoring granddaughters, Kate, Madison, and Charlotte; along with many dear friends.
A memorial service for Brooks will be held Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 10:00 AM followed by a reception at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary & Cemetery, 6601 South Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121.
