Fern Williams, age 94, passed away peacefully June 14, 2014. She was born in Nora, Nebraska, on October 3, 1919, to Art and Elmina Corman. Fern was the last surviving family member that included four brothers and two sisters.
Fern grew up on the family farm near Superior, Nebraska, and trained to be a beautician after high school. Fern married Mr. Joyce L. Williams in York, Nebraska, on June 21, 1941. The newlyweds moved to Denver shortly after their marriage. The couple lived most of their lives in Englewood, Colorado.
Fern was preceded in death by her husband Joyce and is survived by sons; Jay (Barb), Gregg (Barb) and Mike (Nancy) and daughter Beth (Mike) Hankle and ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
Fern was a wonderful stay at home mom who also served as bookkeeper for the family owned construction business. Fern liked to quilt, fish, bowl, grow flowers, cook, play cards, watch the Broncos and Colorado Rockies, and take care of her family. She also was a longstanding member of the First Christian Church of Englewood (Englewood Bible Church), quilted with the Ladies’ Missionary Group, and a member and officer for the Arapahoe County Extension Homemakers.
Services are scheduled Thursday, June 19th at 10:00 AM at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary at 6601 S. Colorado Boulevard, Centennial, CO, 80121.
