I will always remember Alma's kindness, warmth and generosity.  I was blessed to know Alma through the Malley Center quilt group.  Alma was a wonderful teacher and mentor to me.  I treasure too her many interesting life stories that she shared.  Rest in peace Dear Alma.

Sending out love and prayers to you at this most difficult time.

 Alma has been my aunt every sense I can remember, about 60 years. She took me and Janice to the movies to see Mary Poppins on my birthday one time, I was 10 years old. That meant a lot to me. Trips to the cabin were fun but very cold. David and my brother Duane would not let us out of the out house one time and aunt Alma came to our recuse. I remember lots of home made ice cream and lots of picnics. Lots of swimming.

 Later when I lived in Denver with my two daughters, uncle Bob and aunt Alma would come over and take us out for ice cream or a treat. They came by to visit often.  Uncle Bob and aunt Alma  made the long trip to Lamar once for a wonderful visit.

We shared cards and letters and lots of phone calls.  Sense she has been sick we have had a lot of long distance calls, the days could be very long for her.
  We could just talk for hours about any and everything, the old days and her child hood, my childhood, also of Bob as a young man. One of my fun memories is hearing uncle Bob singing this special song all the time. "she has freckles on her butt, but I love her." I hope this does not offend , but it has always been a favorite memory of mine and makes me laugh.  Uncle Bob was a very funny and caring man. Aunt Alma was a  fine lady, almost a second mom to me.

I love her very much and miss her a lot.

Alma and I have been friends for over 60 years.We meet in May 1957 when our sons were about six weeks old. I lived right across the street from Alma and the family. We took sewing classes together, made lots of our own children's clothing. Bob would drive us to down town Denver, on Wazee Street, so we could buy new material for 38 cents a yard. He kept watch so we were safe.  We cooked and canned. We had many a meal together and then played board games  while the kids played. She taught me to drive, I nearly put us in the Platte River once. Well almost.  We took the Durango train to Silverton one time. Wonderful trip. New Mexico and other places. We bowled together at Englewood Bowling Alleys.  Even bowled for Pat Boone, our sponsor a couple of seasons. After one of my surgery's, she took care of one of my new born sons until I could hold him again. We have  laughed and cried together over all these years. Lots of wonderful memories. Just last fall we had a good visit and played around trying to take "selfies" of our selves. What fun. I dearly miss my wonderful friend. I can truly say I only know good things about Alma and Bob Sharp. They were always wonderful to me and my family. Wonderful children, I took care of Elaine in my day care when she was a baby, right beside my daughter of the same age. I love you Alma. Thanks for being a wonderful friend. Rest in peace.

All the memories from mom and dad over the years and years... mom's goal was to see me married and to see her grandchildren have great grand children. I know she had a long 90 year life. it has been hard since our dad had passed away so many years ago and her living without him, but she was a very strong person. she loved making quilts. she made all of us kids, grand kids and great grand kids a quilt. she would sew them all by hand. never used a sewing machine.. 
all the chickens and ducks I had growing up was another thing we loved together, except when they would get into the garden and start eating the plants. 
I love her with all my heart and will miss her a great deal... glad she isn't suffering any longer and she is back with dad and our brother David.

Alma ~ mother to Janice Sharp (Bollhoefner) Bramble, David R Sharp (deceased) and Elaine Sharp Devries. Grandmother to  Jason Bollhoefner (Ellen)  and Travis Bollhoefner (Sarah)  Great Gramma to Emily Bollhoefner and Marielle Bollhoefner 
Mom was a retired nurse she worked on the surgery ward at Porter Memorial Hospital, was a licensed daycare provider loving many children. 
She volunteered at Malley Senior Center for 23 years where she shared her love for quilting.  Mom knit over 8000 caps for underprivileged children, food banks, and cancer patients. 
She was a devoted grandmother who spent endless hours watching swim meets and baseball games.  Countless hours fishing with her grandchildren and their friends at her mountain cabin in Leadville. 
Her past goal was to meet her latest grandchild Marielle.    
Her family misses her easy smile and gentle nature.  Easter without her Tennessee southern fried chicken will not be the same.
