Alma was a retired nurse she worked on the surgery ward at Porter Memorial Hospital and was also a licensed daycare provider, having loved many children. She volunteered at Malley Senior Center for 23 years where she shared her love for quilting. Alma knitted over 8,000 caps for underprivileged children, food banks, and cancer patients.
Alma was a devoted grandmother who spent endless hours watching swim meets and baseball games and spent countless hours fishing with her grandchildren and their friends at her mountain cabin in Leadville. She especially loved taking Emily on the train and to see the goats at Englewood’s Belleview Park. Her most recent goal was to meet her latest great-grandchild, Marielle, she was overjoyed to hold and kiss her.
Her family misses her easy smile and gentle nature. Easter without her Tennessee southern fried chicken will not be the same. She was very loved and will be missed.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Olinger Chapel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held two hours prior to graveside services, from 10:00-12:00 pm, at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6601 S Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121.
