Alice had worked for a number of years in the retail field at the Denver Dry Goods company at Cherry Creek. But her true passion in life was her volunteer time spent at Craig Hospital, and a long career as a storyteller with the "Spellbinders" of Denver. She embellished her storytelling to many children in the schools and through the public libraries.
Alice will always be remembered for her infectious smile, a quick wit and sense of humor, and her ability to entertain with a story. She had an unwavering love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who were the lights of her life. She will be greatly missed by all of her family.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband John, and her parents. She is survived by her two sons, Dave (Terri) Butz, Castle Rock, Keith (Charlene) Butz, Windsor Heights, Iowa, three grandchildren, Eric Butz (Tanya Von Marschner) Irvine, California, Andra (John) Homans, Denver, Jennifer Butz (Mel Heckart), Ankeny, Iowa, two great grandchildren, Ali and Jack Homans, Denver.
