I was blessed to spend some time with Aggie during the last few years of her life. She always welcomed me into her home and made me feel appreciated and loved. How? She would turn to me at random, look me straight in the eye, and smiling say, "You are my brother Eddie's son: I – Love – YOU." Her kindness and generosity made me truly feel like part of the family.

A favorite memory: One gloomy February afternoon a couple of years back, around Aggie's birthday, we were on our way home from the Johnson Center and stopped at Bear Creek. Valerie and I spontaneously began building a small snowman on the hood of the car. Aggie hadn't been feeling well, but looking through the windshield, seeing the snowballs being stacked and realizing what was happening, she brightened up, slapped her knees, and laughed, delighted. Although ill, having already lived a very full life, she was not so discouraged or jaded to appreciate the magic of the moment.

Aggie was a creative soul – an honest poet not afraid to write her full truth, a charming dancer graceful even in old age. She was a lover of nature who knew how to speak with the trees and the birds. She was both wise and wise-cracking, funny and fun-loving, generous and genuine, and above all, Young At Heart. 

Not so long ago, Aggie did a project at the Johnson Center in which she was told to write her name and describe herself in three words. She wrote "AGNES – LOVE, WONDER, ACTION." Those words would be a fitting epitaph for this remarkable lady. Her life continues to inspire mine. I will always be thankful for our time together, and I see her in all the beautiful ones she has left behind.

It's so nice to see the pictures here on the site. We'll try to share all the memories with mom (Elizabeth) and the boys. You're all in our thoughts and prayers.

To The Family: My sincerest condolence, as each day passes may you reflect the love that will sustain your hearts. Your mother was one of creative wisdom , and was an excellent poet.  I loved her poetry writings, and her gentleness  of spirit, will always remember her,as she taught me many life lessons. "Blessings"
