On January 26, 2021, Madalene “Chrissy” Koel peacefully passed away. Her legacy of love continues with her cherished husband, Richard J. Koel; beloved children, Melissa Smith and her husband, Shawn, Conrad Meil and his wife, Tina, Mark Meil and his wife, Pamela, and Valerie Koel; loving grandchildren, Chase Smith and his companion, Brittany Runkles, Tyler Smith and his wife, Darby, Jayden Meil, and Zachary Meil; soon to be born great granddaughter, Paisley Morgan Smith; devoted siblings, Michael Quinlan and his wife, Jan, Patrick Quinlan and his wife, Caroline, Kevin Quinlan and his wife, Jennifer; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was greeted in Heaven by her brother, John “Butch” Quinlan, Jr.
Her family will receive friends at Sterling Ashton Schwab Witzke Funeral Home of Catonsville, Inc., 1630 Edmondson Avenue, Catonsville, MD 21228 on Sunday, January 31, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Her Funeral Service will be at the funeral home on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 10am. Her burial will be held privately in Baltimore National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 10626 York Road, Suite A, Cockeysville, MD.
