Katherine H. Metz

On February 19, 2014, Katherine H. (Kitty) Metz (nee Laumann); Beloved wife of the late Edward (Jack) Metz; Devoted mother of Suzanne and Gerard Sunderland, William and Tina Metz, David and Donna Metz, Richard and Robin Metz, and Patricia and Robert Morgan; She was the beloved grandmother of Mark, David, and Andrew Sunderland, Harry Metz, Brittany, Amanda, and Jarrett Metz, and Katherine and Sara Morgan. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Maya, Gray, Heron, Hayley, and Jonathan Sunderland.

Kitty was born on January 9, 1921 in Ellicott City. She lived in Lochearn for many years and later in Reisterstown. She was an avid golfer and a member of Piney Branch Golf Club. She was also a bridge player and an active member in the Franklin Garden Club.

Friends may call at the Sterling Ashton Schwab Witzke Funeral Home, 1630 Edmondson Ave., Catonsville, MD 21228, on Sunday, February 23, 2014 from 3 to 5pm and 7 to 9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 24, 2014 at 11:30am, at the Our Lady of Angels Chapel at the Charlestown Retirement Community, 711 Maiden Choice Lane, Catonsville, MD 21228. Interment will be at St. John’s Cemetery, Ellicott City.
