Grace Jane Sims

Grace was born January 19, 1935 to Dorothea and Harry Zwinggi in Carrick, Pa, where she resided until she wed the love of her life, John W. Sims in 1955. Grace and John went on to have two children, John H. and Kimberley, five grandchildren, Dale, Brian, Jason, Stephanie, and Kyle, and five great grandchildren, Makenzie, Hayley, Scarlett, Gabrielle, and Lexie.

Grace was devoted to her family, friends, and her church family. She loved giving and spent most of her free time making lap blankets for the community nursing homes.

She was predeceased by her parents, Dorothea and Harry, and her grandson Jason Turek. She is survived by her husband John Sims, son John H. Sims and wife Joyce, daughter Kimberley and husband Dale Turek, sister Jean Cook, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as many family members and loving friends.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 29 from 4-7PM at the STERLING-ASHTON-SCHWAB-WITZKE FUNERAL HOME OF CATONSVILLE, INC., 1630 Edmondson Avenue, Catonsville, MD 21228. Funeral services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Susan G. Komen Maryland, 303 International Circle, Suite 390, Hunt Valley, MD 21030 or to Gilchrist Hospice, 11311 McCormick Rd., Ste. 350, Hunt Valley, MD 21031.
