

On January 22, 2023; Donald Ross Stimely, Sr., born in Cumberland Maryland on December 21, 1933, formerly of Linthicum and recently of Catonsville, passed away after a short illness. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in Germany as a medic. He worked as an L.P.N. at Spring Gove State Hospital completing 33 years of service to the State of Maryland. Mr. Stimely had recently celebrated 35 years of sobriety with his closest friends in Alcoholics Anonymous.
He is survived by his sister Sue Mencer and beloved children Patricia D. Chapman and her husband Charles Chapman, William J. Stimely and his wife Lynda Stimely, and D. Ross Stimely, Jr. and his wife Carol A. Bittner. Mr. Stimely also had 10 Grandchildren, Andrew Chapman, Matthew Chapman, Rebecca Chapman, Zachary Stimely, Jessica Stimely, Ruth Robe, (Nee Stimely), Masene Stimely, Luke Stimely, Safiya Stimely, and Asher Stimely. He was graced with 4 great grandchildren. Ebin Sinclair, Aiden Suib, Torvi Suib, and Azaria Robe.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Arlene, Fleada, and Pat. Less than 48 hours before passing, Mr. Stimely was also preceded in death, by his long time companion of 34 years Mabel Williamson.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 1 from 2-4 & 6-8PM at the Sterling-Ashton-Schwab-Witzke Funeral Home of Catonsville, Inc., 1630 Edmondson Avenue, Catonsville, MD 21228. Memories and reflections of his life will be shared Thursday, February 2 at 11AM. Interment in Crownsville Veteran Cemetery.
